Kia ora,

My partner Ryan and I (Nann) are at a stage in our lives now where we are ready to become parents and give our all to raising a wonderful human being who will be cared for and very much loved.

We have learnt a lot about what the journey ahead looks like for us and the people that will be part of this complex process through research, consultations with fertility clinics, joining online groups and talking to people who have already been through or are going through the same journey.

We’re very fortunate to have a good friend who is ready to donate her eggs and the missing piece in the puzzle now is to find another amazing person to be our gestational surrogate. Should we be lucky enough to connect with someone who may consider being a surrogate for us, we want you to know that we have no expectations to begin with and would just love the opportunity for us all to get to know each other first.

Ryan and I very much enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s going on day/multi-day walks, gardening, chilling at the beach or simply just sitting outside and listening to the birds and the sounds of nature - this is our happy place.

Ryan loves a good audio book and is a pretty good baker - I’m the taste tester so I can vouch for the baking.

I love to cook, except baking because I’m more of a measure by using the eyes and recently trying my hand at DIY building for things around the house (very amateur).

We have a goal of completing all the great walks around New Zealand and so far, Ryan and I have done the Milford and Heaphy tracks together. I have also done the Abel Tasman and Kepler tracks.

Ryan is a Nurse Practitioner and works in primary and community health care. He deeply cares for the wellbeing and health of people, especially those who are disadvantaged and have complex health needs.

I work in the aviation industry and is currently an Operations Specialist. Prior to this, most of my working life has been in learning and development within the same industry.

Outside of work, we’ve both recently settled in a little town called Waipū in Northland, having lived in Auckland for many years. We wanted a quieter life, away from the hustle and bustle of a big city and we love living rurally and being close to some beautiful beaches. Our cat Binx is a big fan considering he had to live in an apartment for a while!

In our spare time, as mentioned above, one of the things you’ll find us doing most of the time is being outside pottering about on our property. We’d like to live more sustainably by growing our own food and regenerating the land with native plants – this keeps us busy, but it is a fulfilling labour of love.
